A reminder that the Oxfam South-East Groups Christmas Get-together is
this evening at 6.30 at the Victoria Office, 232-242 Vauxhall Bridge Road,
London, SW1V 1AU (about three minutes walk from Victoria Station
- turn right coming out onto Wilton Road, turn left after Argos, go under
the office over the road, then cross to the far side of Vauxhall Bridge Road,
turn right along the pavement and it’s about 100 yards – the grey building
with the steps and ramp – ring the buzzer outside)

Sarah’s confirmed that weather notwithstanding she’s there and ready for us
- see message below.

Owen

Just a quick confirmation that I am sitting in the Oxfam Victoria, London
Office surrounded by wine and cheese and excited to meet a lot of you
tonight. I hope the snow doesnt stop you from attending

Dear Activists and Group Leaders

You are warmly invited to our Oxfam South East Christmas gathering 6:30pm
Thursday 2nd December 2010 in the Oxfam London Office.

My name is Sarah Corbett and I am Lucy Aitken Read?s maternity cover. For
the next 12 months I will be full-time Oxfam Community and Activist
Campaigner for the South East. Therefore I am here to support groups,
shops and individuals in Oxfam campaigning activities.

Below is an invitation to a gathering we are having in the London Office
on Thursday 2nd December 2010. The event will start at 6:30pm and finish
around 8pm. A variety of Oxfam activists, shop managers and local group
leaders are attending from across the South East to meet each other, learn
more about what Oxfam can offer them, give feedback on how I can support
Oxfam you guys better, hear from what type of campaigning other people are
doing in the South East and get to know each other better ? all whilst
enjoying the free cheese and wine provided by Oxfam as a thank you for all
their support.

We would love it if you could attend or if you are part of a group try and
have a group member attend. We really hope that this event will help
everyone feel more supported, valued and listened to, feel part of a
movement for change in the South East and inspire you to continue to work
on eradicating poverty and injustice for our global neighbours.

Please let me know if you can attend (so we don?t eat all the cheese
before you arrive!) or if you would be interested in having a chat in the
near future and keep up the great work you are doing for Oxfam!

It would be great if many of you could come along with questions on the key issues mentioned on the flyer!

It’s a great opportunity to lobby the Eu as the Parliament elections are coming upp at the beginning of June.

Is anyone available to set up a stall? we can go there from 6 pm if we’d like. I am not sure if I can make it by 6 though…

Hope to hear from you soon!

On 28 March, as G20 leaders prepared to meet in London to discuss the global financial crisis, Oxfam campaigners were among 35,000 activists who descended on the capital with this message to the G20: Put People First.
A big thank you Owen, James, Ronel, Marta, Mel, Tony, just to name a few of the Central London Oxfam Campaign Group that came along.

Hello everyone,

I hope you are ready for this Saturday to call on the leaders of the
world’s most powerful nations to Put People First.

There will be a big crew of Oxfam staff and activists meeting at 11am at
the corner of Middle Temple Lane and Embankment
. (The nearest tube
station is Temple.) There will be big banners, so even though there will
be thousands of people you can’t miss us! Once you get there, Middle
Lane Temple can be easy to miss as it’s a no-through road. Just
remember that it looks more like an entrance to someone’s private
courtyard when viewing it from Victoria Embankment (along the Thames).
